Spend a Day in Idaho Falls, ID
January 25, 2018
If you are from Idaho Falls, or know somebody who is, you may have heard it referred to as the best kept secret in the west. This is mainly due to the small town feeling that Idaho Falls has been able to retain, while offering adventure spots and amenities that are simply amazing. Since we love our city so much, we decided to put together a list of things that we think people should do if they are spending the day in Idaho Falls, ID.
See the Snake River Green Belt
If you have ever visited this city, you know how beautiful the nature is here. The green belt here is simply stunning. You can rent bikes or roller blades for a day and see amazing beauty along the Snake River. You will see many of the amazing buildings that can be found here along the trail as well.
Watch an Idaho Falls Chukars Game
While we don’t have any major league sports teams in our city, we do have a minor league baseball team that is really fun to watch. For a really affordable price you can have fun watching a baseball game with the entire family.
Visit the Idaho Falls Zoo
Despite being in a rather small city, the Idaho Falls Zoo is quite impressive. Home to dozens of different types of animals, you can get a complete zoo experience for a fraction of the cost of many zoos. You won’t want to miss any of the animals like Lions, Tigers, Kangaroos, Camels, Otters, Crocodiles and more. You should plan on spending at least a few hours of your day here.
Check Out the Museum of Idaho
If you or your children like learning, you should definitely not miss the Museum of Idaho. They can learn about space, dinosaurs, ancient civilizations, animals and more. While you could spend a whole day here, if you are trying to fit a bunch of sights into one day, we recommend at least a couple hours here.
Tautphaus Park
If you are visiting Idaho Falls during the late spring, summer, or early fall months, we recommend planning a picnic at Tautphaus Park. This is a very large park with attractions for almost everyone. Whether you just want open space or want a playground for kids, you will find it at Tautphaus Park.
Take in the Scenery
There are a lot of really fun things to do in Idaho Falls. We recommend taking in as much of the city as you can. Drive around down town Idaho Falls, check out the historic district of the city, take a drive into the mountains and take in as many of the natural surroundings as you possibly can. With the right planning, even if you only have a day, you will come to find out for yourself why Idaho Falls is often called the best kept secret in the west. More things to do in Idaho Falls.
