Our Favorite Smile Transformations
We could try to describe to you some of the smiles and the lives we’ve improved over the years. However, we think the best approach is to let you view these transformations for yourself. Check out our before and after pictures to see just how powerful a confident, healthy smile can be! Then, when you decide you’re ready for your own success story, you can give us a call and schedule your own appointment!
Full Mouth Reconstruction - Alex presented to the clinic wanting a drastic change. He would grind his
teeth at night, and due to the breaking and chipping of his enamel, his teeth had become very sensitive. He
even considered having his teeth extracted and having dentures placed. Although that sometimes needs to
happen, we felt that Alex’s chewing ability, and thus his quality of life, would go down without his
natural teeth. After all, he is only in his 40s and has a lot of life ahead of him left to live! He said
“ If I’m going to have something done, I want it done right.” The timeline for idealizing
a bite and getting a new smile is different for everyone, but in Alex’s case, we were able to achieve
the results we wanted in 4 months' time. He is glad he made the investment in his oral health. He now wears
an occlusal bite guard at night to protect his teeth and jaws.
Implant to Replace Missing Front Tooth - Matt is a young man that came to our clinic wanting an
implant from a tooth he lost as a child. Matt is now in his 20s, so jaw bone growth had stopped meaning he
could finally get the implant he had been waiting for, and say goodbye to his removable plastic replacement
tooth forever. The implant and temporary tooth were placed and allowed to heal for 4 months. After the bone
and soft tissue had healed around the implant, Matt went to Treasure Dental Lab here in Idaho Falls for a
custom shade match. Teeth in the front, especially the very top front teeth, are very important to match in
both size and color, as even a slight discrepancy can be very noticeable. The goal in dentistry is to
provide lifelike restorations so that you can’t tell the difference between a natural tooth and a
restoration. The artists at Treasure Dental Lab fabricated a natural-looking tooth for Matt to complete his
smile.
Broken Tooth Replaced by an Implant - Geneva had a problem. One of her teeth broke off at the
gumline, causing a hole in her smile. After assessing our options, and going through the risks and benefits
of each, Geneva decided to have the tooth root extracted and an implant placed to replace the broken root. A
healing collar was placed in this case (picture on the left) to allow bone to heal around the dental
implant. Geneva had a removable plastic tooth that she wore during healing to cover the hole and healing
collar. Once the implant was well integrated into the bone, a porcelain tooth was placed on top to restore
Geneva’s one of a kind smile.
Implant & Crowns to Strengthen Bottom Teeth - Brad noticed one day that his front four bottom teeth
were wearing away down by the gumline. It could have been acid reflux eroding away at his teeth, or brushing
his teeth with a stiff bristle brush for too many years, but whatever it was, his teeth were so narrow at
the gumline that one day his front bottom tooth just snapped in half. We new we would have to replace the
tooth with either a bridge or an implant. Due to ease of flossing, and not to put additional strain on the
neighboring teeth, we decided it would be best to place an implant to replace the broken tooth (picture on
the left). A temporary bridge was placed to fill the space of the missing tooth, and Brad crowned his other
3 natural teeth to strengthen them and prevent them from breaking like the first tooth did. He is very
pleased with the results.
“I was so embarrassed of my teeth, I wouldn’t smile.” - Ian is a college student
who knew he had neglected to see a dentist for too long. After discussing treatment options, we decided to
restore Ian’s teeth with composite tooth-colored fillings. Ian is thrilled with the results! Although
large fillings don’t last as long as crowns, we got a great result that will serve him for years to
come. Ian feels like he has a new lease on life and is able to confidently smile again.
“I hate the chipping in my front teeth!” - Natalie works in the customer service industry
where she talks with people in close proximity every day. Her smile is very important to her, and she was
concerned about the chipping and pitting that had developed in her front teeth. We took a conservative
approach of esthetic bonding and recontouring of her front teeth. She now confidently smiles around her
customers and wishes she hadn’t waited so long to do this “easy and painless” procedure
Restoration & Smile Design -
Mark didn’t like how his front teeth were wearing down and chipping away.
He said they felt sharp and looked like “old people teeth.” He also didn’t
like how crowded his front lower tooth looked. We took a conservative
approach to improve the look of his crowded tooth and to restore and
esthetically contour his other lower front teeth to make his smile more
youthful. Mark was beyond pleased with the way things turned out.
“I’ve been missing my top teeth for years” - Jose was missing his front four top
teeth and was ready to do something about it! After a 3D scan, we placed two dental implants and connected a
four-tooth bridge to restore Jose’s smile. Jose is grateful to have a new beginning and loves his new
smile.
